Religious Education

This coming academic year, 2017-2018, St. Peter’s will be following Archbishop Aquila’s directive in restoring the order of the sacraments of initiation to their original order; that is, Baptism, followed by Confirmation and then Eucharist.  This will make available every sacramental grace the Church has to offer to children who have reached the age of reason.

Beginning this fall our 2nd graders will prepare for and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and our 3rd graders will prepare for and receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.

This coming year St. Peter’s will be offering Sacramental Preparation programs for Grades 2-12 and making a special emphasis of ensuring that everyone in our Parish has received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

The Sacramental Preparation Classes for 2017-2018 will be as follows:

2nd Grade – Preparation for and reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation

3rd -12th Grade –  Preparation for and reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation (and First Holy Communion if needed).

All adults who have not been confirmed or received their 1st Communion are invited and encouraged to take part in our Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA).

Registration for formally registered parishioners begins June 1st.

All others may register beginning July 1st.  Registration for classes ends on July 31st.
