In the parable in Matthew 25, Jesus speaks about a master giving his servants talents of money which they are to invest wisely while the master is away. The servants are given different amounts. The first two invested wisely and doubled what they had been given. They were given praise by the master when he returned. The servant who did not faithfully use or invest the talent he had been given was scolded and even the talent he had was taken from him.

Jesus teaches us that it is not the amount of talents or gifts that we are given that is important, but rather how we use those talents or gifts.
